Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates who fulfill eligibility condition of Nationality as laid down by the Government of India for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Technical [Engineering (E) & Electrical (L)] Branches of the Indian Navy for course commencing Jan 2012.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :

(i) Technical (General Service) 19½ to 25 years ; 02 Jan 1987 to Branch (‘E’ & ‘L’) 01 Jul 1992

(ii) Submarine Cadre (‘E’ & ‘L’) 19½ to 25 years; 02 Jan 1987 to 01 Jul 1992.

Educational Qualifications. Four years BE/B. Tech Engineering Degree qualified with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from a recognised university with one of the following streams:

PHYSICAL STANDARDS.

The candidates should not be colour/night blind & must be physically fit according to following physical standards:-
(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height-157cms with correlated weight.
(b) Eye Sight. 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses for Tech(GS) Branch & Submarine Cadre.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection procedures are as follows:-

(a) The candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews at Bangalore/ Bhopal/Coimbatore between Aug 11 to Nov 11 according to their choice of cadre and their performance in BE/B Tech. Degree. Short-listing of candidates will be done on the basis of the cut off percentage decided by IHQ-MoD (Navy) for each cadre. No communication will be entertained on this account. A candidate not making to the cut-off %age of his 1st choice will be considered for his 2nd choice, provided the candidate meets the cut-off forthat particular cadre.
(b) Conduct of SSB. Stage I test consisting of Officer Intelligence Rating Test(OI&R Test),Picture Perception and Discussion test(PDPT) will be conducted on the first day. Candidatewho fails to qualify in Stage I will be routed back home on the same day. Stage II tests will comprise of Psychological testing, Group Task, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. No compensation will be paid in case of any injury sustained as a result of tests. The duration of SSB will be 05 days Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Special Medical Examination for approximate duration of 05 days at nearest military hospital.
(c) Change of SSB centre is not permissible. Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates is to be addressed to the Call-up Officer of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates, would be subject to availability of date and batches at SSB centre.
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(e) Return 2nd Class Sleeper rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the entry.

Indian Navy Short Service Commission in Air Traffic Control Cadre 2012

Applications are invited from unmarried Men and Women candidates for Short Service Commission in Air Traffic Control Cadre of Executive Branch, of the Indian Navy for Course commencing Jan 2012 at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates are to fulfil condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

Age. 19 ½ to 25 years i.e. born between 02 Jan 1987 and 01Jul 1992 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications.

(a) B Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 60% marks
or
(b) M Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics.with minimum 55% marks

Note: Candidates who have not completed their Degree (i.e appearing candidates) need not apply.

4. Physical Standards

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height – Male- 157 cms, Female -152 cms with correlated weight.

(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/9, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses and should not be colour/night blind.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

(a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Degree Course. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his/her higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence(Navy) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore /Bhopal/ Coimbatore during Aug to Nov 2011.
(b) Stage I test consisting of Intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidate who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).
(c) Candidates recomended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(d) Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible.
(e) Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter and copy endorsed to Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (OI & R), Room No. 204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, IHQ-MoD(N), New Delhi-110011. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability.

Indian Navy Short Service Commission Executive Branch 2012 Notification

THE INDIAN NAVY

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre) of the Indian Navy for Jan 2012 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Age. 19 ½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1987 and 01 Jul 1992; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications. Any of the following:-

(a) Science Graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognised University.
(b) BE/B Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline from an institution recognised by AICTE.
(c) Science Graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognised University holding NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate. (d) Graduate/Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational Research/Quantitative Methods with minimum 75% marks from recognised University.
(e) Graduate/Post Graduate in Mathematics, with Probability or Statistics with minimum 75% marks from a recognised University.

Note:- Candidates who have not completed their Graduation (i.e. appearing candidates) need not apply, their application will not be accepted.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION

Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates have the option of submitting application in ‘physical format’ or e-application’ (Online) for this entry. Candidates can only apply in one of the aforementioned formats. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of his candidature. The candidates desirous of applying online(e-application) can do so from 12 Mar 11. The online application registration will cease on 27 Mar 11.

Online(e-application):- Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:-

(a) Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
(b) Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.

(a) Click on the “Officer Entry” button under the option ‘Apply Online’ on the Home Page.

(b) Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields have been provided as you highlight each field

(c) Before clicking the Submit button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form is correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record.

(d) After submitting the form, a ‘Roll Number’ will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. This Roll Number will automatically appear on the printout of the form. If the system does not generate the Roll Number, it is an indication of non-acceptance of Application by the system.

(e) Print two copies of this Application Form having the system generated Roll Number. One copy of this Application Form is to be duly signed and mailed (posted) to Post Box No. 04, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi – 110 011 along with the following documents:- Self attested photograph, Attested photo copies of 10th & 12th class certificates along with Mark Sheets, other educational certificates and mark sheets of all semester/years.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :

A graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 65% marks. Should have qualified Mathematics & Physics at 10+2 level.

Physical Standards :

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height 162.5 cms with correlated weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length.

(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6. Should not be colour/night blind.

Note : There will be no relexation in Physical Standards.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION

Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

Officers inducted under this scheme will not be given extension beyond fourteen years and will not be eligible for permanent commission

(c) The total duration of SSB interviews is five days, consisting of stage I (Day one) and stage II (Four days). Stage I Tests, consist of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Group Discussion Tests.Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be sent back on the same day from SSB Centre. Stage II Tests consists of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests and Interview. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Tests) followed by Aviation Medical examination.

(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs, cleared PABT and declared medically fit will be appointed for training based on merit list, depending on the number of vacancies.

(e) Candidates not cleared PABT/Aviation medicals if opted for Short Service (Executive) may be considered for the same, if qualified medically & educationally {BE/BTech/ BSc(Phy & Maths)} provided vacancies exist and based on their position in the merit list.

(f) Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.

DUTIES OF PILOTS

On completion of basic flying training and on award of wings after commission, you would have an opportunity to fly Fixed Wing Aircraft or helicopters. This could be from an aircraft carrier, other ship’s decks or from an airfield ashore. You would be flying machines at the cutting edge of technology.
